Oh, the Places You'll Go! (Med104 Remediation)

Welcome Back! Half Way Done ...

WOW .. as I prepare to enter my next study period I can hardly believe that I am half way through my 1st year! .. I have now completed 4 subjects. This study period brings fourth Med104 and Web206.

Overall, I must say I have been extremely happy with my results. These have definitely been challenging times trying to juggle family and Uni life. I hope I can maintain my momentum throughout these next 13 weeks.

How Time Flies when you're Having FUN!

Wow, can't believe it's been over a month since my last post.

To catch you up to speed.. Hmmmm .. let me see ..

I've completed all my assignments for my 1st 2 subjects at Uni - and am happy to report, at present, I'm sitting on a Credit for both subjects (last marks for each, still pending).
I was involved in yet another car accident, this time someone hitting the back of me - they slammed so hard into me, my tow bar got stuck under their front grill. Tow trucks had to come to separate us.
My little 18mth has been doing, apparently "what boys do", and jammed his middle finger tip in the hinge of the door, it turned purple, and now has come off completely!  *joy* - so hoping it grows back soon.
I've had Open Day for daughter #2's Primary School, which again, I do not know where THAT time's gone?!? So hard to believe she starts school in only a few more months!
And I've gone for the filming of the TV show Pyramid at Fox Studios where my daughter #1 will appear to air sometime in August.

I can't believe it's already June .. which only means one thing - My Birthday! .. I am looking forward (not to my age in years) but to my day out with my sister this Sunday. We're going on a Day Tour of the Southern Highlands... Mmmm Wine & Cheese, laughs and giggles and NO kids! Bus leaves 8.30am and doens't get back till 6pm - Can't wait .. only 2 more sleeps!!

There's never a dull moment when my 1yr old son is left to his own devices .. While out celebrating Easter at my eldest daughters swim club, one of the instructors was kind enough to offer her an egg to each of her younger siblings .. and why not? - there were enough to go around.. Yum, Yum!

I, myself was busy chatting with a couple of friends. It's nice to be able to catch up them with each Friday night ..  deep in conversation, I hadn't realised how quiet things had become in my son's stroller .. as it was only a second ago he was squealing to get out ... 

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! what a funny sight to see when I turned to look at him

- he certainly did enjoy his Egg! .. I laughed so loud that it was long before a small crowd flocked around him - taking pictures on their camera's, phones and iPods ツ
- what a funny story for them to share with friends .. and what a way to end the night ....

Flicking from tab to tab I found myself becoming deeper and deeper enthralled in my Uni work .. I may as well have taken advantage of the quietness that surrounded me.

After reading several reviews and making a start to my 1000 word essay I couldn't exactly tell you how long it was that my 1yr old son had been quiet for?

After my 1st paragragh my son had emerged .. and this was what I discovered ...

BEEEEEEEEEP !?!!!

After one of the most exhausting day's I've experienced, due to my 7 hour walk-a-thon delivering 1000 x Yellow Pages directories, I was not expecting to be hit by an ute, whilst stationery, waiting to turn into his car space. I remember looking at the way he had parked his vehicle, with the line directly in the middle of his ute, taking up the 2 spaces and remarking to my eldest daughter, hehe, look at the way this persons parked. I was thrilled to see the reversing lights go on, as there were no other spots available.

As he started to reverse, I could see the rear of the ute fast approaching the front of my car .. thinking, is this person going to stop? I beeped my horn, one little one, then a long one .. Beep BEEEEEEPPPPP *BANG* What a way to end the Day!

Thank goodness no-one was hurt, having all 3 kids in the car at the time! .. It certainly put a spanner in the works .. Luckily I had finished my Uni Assignment the night before and I wasn't needing that night to finalise anything, as it was due 9am the following morning... [almost forgot to submit it!]

Chocolate Dream

I was thrilled to have been given a chocolate easter egg early .. it was just the thing I needed for my late night studies. Even though I was wanting to devour it straight away, I knew it would be best kept to have with the midnight coffee while I was busy researching and typing my 4th Review that was due in 3 days time. Too many late night are finally catching up - but I have to keep going and get this done!

Unfortunately somewhere between the time I'd gotten it and hidden it, my 1yr old had discovered it and eaten it.. well most of it anyway .. this was all that was left of my midnight coffee and chocolate dream .. it was gone - Foil and ALL!??!

I knew completing this Uni Degree wasn't going to be easy .. but I thought I'd at least have the resources to keep going?? *drooling at the mouth*

On my Way...

OK .. well I've FINALLY completed my 1st Uni Assignment! .. it's only taken F O U R attempts at it, before I was completely happy with having it submitted... It a little scary hitting that <enter> button .. seeing as it's not due for another 10 days .. I think I'll just sit on it a little longer O.o

- But no time to rest! .. I've fallen waaayY behind in my other subject... Time to get diligent and stick to the original plan of blocking half the week to each subject and not get carried away with just the one! Sure it's great to have one finished early .. but I'm now feeling quite stressed that the other one may be ready at all!! - as they say : Back to Work *sound of a cracking whip*

10 weeks and COUNTING!

Here we are at the beginning of week 3! And I find myself thinking how am I going to survive the next 10 weeks .. Coffee has become my new best friend and I haven't posted a thing on Facebook in days! .. My computer chair is starting to resemble Homer's couch from the Simpsons .. And as I move forward in my studies - I move backward in my housework - yesterday I spent the entire day catching up on several loads of washing, all accumulated from the past 3 weeks ... Hmmm .. and so the question is put fourth: does my Husband and kids have enough clean clothes to get them through the next ten weeks? or is it time for my 12 (almost 13) yr old to learn how to work that washing machine???

On the bright side.. I've discovered where my Tutors have put their Lectures online .. Yay .. just have to find another 40 mins a day listening to them .. aarrrggghhhhhh

1st week over ...

OK .. so the 1st week of Uni is over, and at this stage I've got all my relevant Assignments printed out in front of me .. There is ALOT of work to get through in this 1st Study Period! .. and alot of training myself in the areas of Essay writing and APA referencing etc.

Last week, after feeling quiet proud of myself - due to finished Assignment 1 of one of my subjects I was gutted to find I had trashed it accidentally, and as anal as I am - emptied the trash can .. one of my little quirks that I can stand - seeing that little bin full of rubbish .. After a few too many wines to make it all feel better, I have been able to retrieve it using appropriate software... *PHEW!!*

Note to Self .. BACK UP COMPUTER NIGHTLY

Bitten off more than I can Chew?????

OK .. well it's almost the end of week 1 - and I'm starting to feel like I've taken on more than I am capable of.. with all my assignments now printed off and sitting in front of me I'm feeling very overwhelmed with it all .. Have I bitten Off More than I can Chew?????

Who's idea was it to do a Uni Degree at my age??? Hmm.. and doing it Online - REALLY of all things!! .... *breathe* - take and deep breath and count to 3 - make yourself a coffee and work through this .. You Can Do THIS!!

I've joined all the relative forums, all the Facebook groups and have even joined Twitter in the hope of getting through this first Study Period *crosses fingers*
